About the Exhibition: Raising Our Voices
In the all-inclusive spirit of the mail art show, all works submitted will be displayed. Artists are encouraged to submit works in any media and on any subject so long as they fit within the eligibility guidelines. Thus artists can use this exhibition as a means of either offering social or political commentary or of simply expressing beauty. Part of the proceeds from this show will benefit the Differently Minded Art Studio in Chicago, IL.

About the Differently Minded Art Studio at the Urban Art Retreat
The Differently Minded Art Studio was born out of a need for a place where people can go and just make art. There was and is a need to decrease the stigma of having a mental illness. By working alongside someone with a mental illness, a person becomes more comfortable with the “other” and starts seeing him/her as just another unique person making art. For a person with a mental illness, it helps to be seen as an artist, not a “crazy person”. To be able to just make art with other adults is a good feeling. www.urbanartretreat.com

This exhibition is open to any and all members of the St. Louis and Chicago chapters of the Women's Caucus for Art. All artworks submitted will be displayed in both venues so long as they comply with the eligibility guidelines outlined in the official prospectus.

Due to space limitations, we can accept only one original wall-hung work per artist, 8" x 10" or smaller in any media. Artists of every level are invited to join the St. Louis or Chicago chapters of the Women's Caucus for Art in order to participate.
